2 Careful Owners

Our Boat has made 2 safe crossings
of the North Atlantic. The first was in
2001 by Christian Havrehed from
Denmark and Sun Haibin from China.
The boat named ‘Yantu’ finished 8th
out of 36 teams, completing the
5,000km unsupported in 56 days.

‘Yantu’ was then sold to Richard Pullan
and Chris Hall from the UK, despite
running out of food they managed to
finish 5th in the 2003 race out of
16 teams, completing the 5,000km
unsupported in 60 days.

Boat Design

The Atlantic Rowing Race class, was designed specifically for the Atlantic Rowing Race event back in 1995 by Exmouth based boat builders and designers, Phil Morrison and Peter ''Spud'' Rowsell. Since its origin, it has become the world's most successful Ocean Rowing boat, with a current production run of 67 boat kits, clocking up no less than 81 crossings of three different oceans (Atlantic, Pacific and Indian).
